Arguably the most highly-anticipated portion of All-Star Saturday, this year’s 3-point contest did not disappoint in the least.

The starting line up for the first round of shooting included James Harden (Houston Rockets), Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks), Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors), Klay Thompson (Golden State Warriors), J.J. Reddick (L.A. Clippers), C.J. McCollum (Portland Trailblazers), Devin Booker (Phoenix Suns), and defending champion Steph Curry (Golden State Warriors.

“Splash Brothers” Steph & Klay finished strong in the first round of the contest, with Thompson inching out a 22-point lead to Curry’s 21.

Harden, Reddick and Booker all tied for 20 in the first round, but it was 19-year-old rookie Booker who prevailed in the tie-breaking shootout to advance to the championship round with Curry and Thompson.

Booker’s impressive first-year performance came to an end as he topped out at 16 points in the final round, which left Thompson and Curry to face off for the title. 2-time champion Curry defended his honor in prime fashion with a 23-point finish, but it still proved no match for Thompson, who prevailed in the end with an impressive 27 points.
