The Durham Public Schools Board of Education invites the community to share thoughts about how to reduce the use of suspensions and improve discipline in the school district through a Board public hearing on tonight from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Holton Career and Resource Center auditorium, 401 N. Driver St., Durham.

The public hearing follows a series of tabletop Community Conversations hosted by the Board and Durham Public Schools in which educators, parents and community members discussed the strengths and challenges of discipline in DPS and suggested opportunities for improvement.

Speakers are asked to sign up upon arrival at the auditorium. Each will be given three minutes to speak about suspensions and discipline in Durham Public Schools.
