Time flies when you’re making a film about one of the greatest rappers ever.

After months of shooting, director Benny Boom and the Morgan Creek Productions crew wrapped the highly anticipated Tupac biopic in Las Vegas earlier this week. Boom worked with the late rapper’s estate and family for All Eyez On Me, which will tell the real story behind Pac’s rise to fame and tragic death.

The famous filmmaker told Billboard“We’re starting from before he was born. His parents were Black Panthers. You see the struggles of his youth, his relationship with his mother, father figures that were in and out of his life, and what he developed into as a man from that. It humanizes him.”

The production team was also honored with a proclamation from the Commissioner of Clark County, Lawrence Weekly, while shooting the final scenes, which include the hours and events leading up to the fatal shooting on the corner of Vegas’ Flamingo and Koval Streets.

All Eyez On Me is set to come out in tandem with the 20th anniversary of Pac’s album of the same name.
