Source: XXL

For years XXL causes controversy but it’s always one thing that always sticks out with them! It’s the fan favorite and most opinionated conversation “Freshman Of The Year”. Now there is no right or wrong answers to who is a “Freshman Of The Year” but if was able to add here’s the #ChewyTakeOver opinion in no order;

  1. Color Rush 2016

    YFNLucci has emerged as one of the newest faces of the Atlanta rap game. With his newest Mixtape “Wish Me Well 2” doing over a million downloads in a week you can not knock his hustle. We guess they still don’t “Know No Better”.

    Jacquees has been around for some time now but should’ve been in this class of “XXL Freshman”. With his single “Come Thru” featuring Rich Homie Quan being a fan favorite girls everywhere support the young heart throb. His current concerts sells out in every city it goes to. With him being the leader of FYB the whole camp may be the spark to another wave of new music and a new sound out of Atlanta. We are pretty sure his snub from this list will motivate even more great music from the R&B sensation.

    The Memphis native Blac Youngsta has shakin’ the industry up the his love for money and stuntin on the entire universe his hit singles “Heavy” and “Shake Sumethin'” has the streets going crazy from his off the wall preformances to match his energy there will never be a day he won’t stunt. Just follow Baller Alert which has become his second unofficial Instagram page.

  4. The Sex God's 50 Shades Of Spectacular Pre-GRAMMY And Valentine's Day Experience

    Dj Luke Nasty arguably had one of the biggest hits so far in 2016 with his single “Might Be” that came from Greensboro, North Carolina and took over the airwaves. With his mixtape dropping we are sure the world will not forget about Luke Nasty! Right? Right!

    Bryson Tiller

    Bryson Tiller- It’s almost scary how he was left absent off this list. With all his shows sold out and everyone riding his wave Bryson Tiller might actually be MVP of the Freshman of the year class of 2016. But hey who are we to judge. Maybe he was too busy on tour to take time for XXL!

    It would’ve been nice to see an honorary position for Bankroll Fresh. Fresh hit the scene running with Street Money world wide and Street Execs supporting him. Fresh had the whole world “Hittin’ Em Folks” to his hit “Walked In”. Fresh passed away earlier this year but made his mark in the game while his was here. The entire south respected and admired his work. Although his career was short it had a super impact on down south music. #LongLiveFresh from the #ChewyTakeOver
