I guess we can call it a come back all the way around the board. Chicago native Derrick Rose returned back not just to his hometown but the same arena he played in for eight years. Rose entering his ninth year in the NBA spent his entire NBA career being the face of of the Chicago Bulls winning NBA playoffs, even capturing the NBA MVP award. Sidelined by his multiple major knee injuries Chicago decided to part ways with the hometown hero and sent him off to the Knicks this summer.

Rose has been fighting hard on and off the court to get back to his old self. His trip to Chicago was better sweet as he stepped on the floor on the Chicago floor for the first time in an unfamiliar jersey. Rose ended the game with 15 points and a series of highlight plays. Asked after the game how he felt one word to describe it “weird”. Rose is now on of the many faces of the New York Knicks who hope to make this year a power house team.

In this bitter sweet moment Derrick was able to walk away with a smile on his face as the New York beat Chicago 117-104. The Knicks are still trying to find their gel as a team with a record of 2-3. The season is still early and tons off time left we will be sure to keep an eye on D. Rose and his new team.
