During Wednesday’s protest in front of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department, protestors taunted CMPD Officer Mike Campagna.

The Latest Music, Celebrities and Interviews:

It started with one woman with a megaphone yelling at Campagna and other officers who were standing across the street. She questioned them about Justin Carr’s death. For the next 10 minutes, protestors shouted, chanted and cursed as Campagna tried to answer questions tossed at him from various protestors. Campagna is a member of the department’s new “Constructive Conversation,” unit the Charlotte Observer reported. The squad consists of 50 hand-picked members. Campagna and 14 other officers waded into the crowd of protestors last week. The goal is for the officers to build a rapport and eventually trust with protestors and community members.

Based on the hostility shown during last week’s interaction, it’s a tough assignment.
