Television Academy Event For NBC's 'The Wiz Live!'

Singer Ne-Yo refuses to be in the hot seat over rumors that he’d be willing to perform at the Presidential Inaguration of Donald Trump.

Earlier this week, TMZ caught up with the “Miss Independent” singer while passing through LAX airport and asked if he’d be willing to perform at Trump’s inaguration, to which he replied with an enthusiastic “Yeah, I’ll be there.” When reporters mentioned that he, so far, was the only Black artist to even entertain the idea of participating, he further clarified his position. “I wouldn’t go cuz I support Donald Trump. I’d go cuz it’s a dope party.” He continued, “I’d go, get the check, have a good time and still say to hell with Donald Trump.

After catching some heat for his initial comments, Ne-Yo took to Instagram to set the record straight. Showing off his best stankface, he writes in the caption, “Now ya’ll know good and gotdamn well I ain’t performing at no Trump Inauguration. Some of ya’ll need to learn to take a joke.”
