The new series has had people talking since the film dropped in 2014 and plans to make it a series began in May 2016.

via Variety:

The series is an adaptation of writer and director Justin Simien’s 2014 feature film of the same name. Simien wrote all 10 half-hour episodes and directed the premiere. It tells the story of a diverse group of students of color experiencing campus life at a fictional Ivy League university dominated by white students. The series stars Logan Browning, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson and Marque Richardson. Brandon P. Bell will reprise his role from the film as Troy Fairbanks, a political science student campaigning to become the first black student president.

Since the teaser trailer dropped in February, it has amassed over 418,407 dislikes and just 56,385 likes and now that the full trailer has dropped, we can only imagined the uproar that it will take as it gets closer to the series premiere on April 28 on Netflix.
